Lesson Sequence Week of June 3, 1996
Week Objective: This week we are reviewing basic fundamentals with a
concentration on the stance for the first 10 to 20 minutes of class.
Shorten or lengthen this as needed for each class. After this, work on
sparring techniques
Indicators of a proper fighting stance:
* front heel and back toe are a shoulder space apart
* front knee is not bent past 90 degrees — and is not too straight to
create a feeling of not being safe.
* front arm guards – fist is at the top of the eye and the elbow is lined
up with the solar plex. Back fist center of body
* shoulders closed
Warm ups: traditional, run, jumping jacks, extra stretches, stretch on
walls, etc.
